Outdoor activities, by their nature, involve an element of risk that cannot be totally eliminated.
Staff are trained and are appropriately qualified to run activity sessions, staff will at all times proceed to monitor and limit risk of injury.
Outdoor activities are hazardous, and do involve the acceptance of risk of injury and of responsibility for the consequences of your own actions.
You the participant are aware that outdoor activities are hazardous and you accept an element of risk of injury and you are responsible for your own actions.
It is imperative that you have disclosed any medical information to your guide/leader on the day if you have not included it in the booking form.
If a last minute booking or a booking not taken through the greenTor website is made then you will be expected to fill in a risk acknowledgement and medical disclaimer form at the start of the event.
If we feel a participant is not considered to be appropriately well, fit or able to take part in their event we reserve the right to exclude them at any time before or during an event. In this case greenTor will not accept liability for any damages, loss or expenses, and any money paid is non-refundable.
I do not currently have symptoms of COVID-19 (new persistent dry cough, fever, loss of taste or smell)
I have not had a positive test for COVID-19 or onset of symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days. (Individuals who have completed their period of isolation (10 days) and have no remaining symptoms (other than a dry cough or loss of taste or smell which can last for some time) may return to normal activities)
No member of my household has had symptoms of COVID-19 or has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days
I have not been contacted by a contact tracer from the Test, Trace and Protect Programme and told to isolate in the last 14 days as a contact of someone with confirmed COVID-19
I have not returned from a country outside of the UK in the last 14 days, other than those on the exempt list
3.Terms & Conditions for Hike Dine and Stay
A booking form is to be completed for your group; you will then receive an invoice for a deposit or full payment depending on time of booking. Once a payment has been made your groups place will be confirmed.
Alternatively, booking forms can be completed by each individual in your group and sent to email@example.com, stating the lead members name at the top of the form, these will then be collated by greenTor.
A deposit will be required once your booking is confirmed; the amount will depend on which break you have chosen. The deposit amount will be stated on the advertised break and an invoice will be sent to you. Details of how to make payment will be listed on your invoice.
Full payment due dates depend upon time of booking and the break you have selected.

3.3 Medical information
Medical information must be provided on your booking form, if any medical information changes from time of booking, guests must inform greenTor as soon as possible by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
greenTor work alongside local independent accommodation providers and as a result we have strict check in and check out times, these times will be included within your booking pack. Additional charges may apply for late check-outs, please ensure you check these times before your holiday.
Our accommodation includes both double and twin rooms, requests can be made at time of booking for your preferred room type. We will endeavour to meet your request, however these requests cannot always be guaranteed.
On all our Hike, Dine and Stay options, all guests are provided with either an ensuite bathroom or a private bathroom nearby to their room.
3.5 You, your group, other guests and your hosts
Communal areas such as living rooms, outdoor spaces and dining areas will be shared with the other Hike, Dine and Stay guests as well as with your greenTor hosts. Vehicle transfers will be made together as a group and your hikes will be as a group too. It is therefore important for the wellbeing of everyone that all guests respect both each other and the accommodation.
greenTor will not tolerate any discrimination against a person because of, age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.
greenTor will also not accept guests deliberately making others feel uncomfortable in anyway.
We reserve the right to ask guests to leave if at any time we feel that these guidelines are broken, refunds will not be offered under these circumstances.
greenTor is not licensed to supply alcohol. We are happy to chill and store any alcohol which guests have brought with them, subject to space limitations.
Whilst greenTor wants you to enjoy your break, we reserve the right to ask guests to leave if they are being irresponsible in the consumption of alcohol. It is also important due to the nature of the activity, that guests are not intoxicated either on the day of a hike and are not suffering effects from the night before. greenTor reserve the right to refuse participation of a hike if it is believed that you are unfit to undertake the activity.
3.7 Dietary requirements
We try to cater for a variety of food allergies, intolerance and dietary requirements; however this is not always possible. Please make us aware of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
In the evening, greenTor will host and serve dinner to all guests communally in one sitting and usually around one table in a friendly sociable atmosphere.
All meals are prepared fresh onsite within the kitchens provided within the accommodation, these are not commercial kitchens and as a result we cannot guarantee that traces of nuts and peanuts are not present within the preparation environment.
Lunches are made up of a sandwich/roll or baguette; these will be pre-ordered before your holiday and may not be able to be amended, although we will try our best to accommodate any late requests.
Along with the sandwich/roll or baguette greenTor will supply you with a selection of drinks and snacks but we strongly advise that you bring along snacks with you.
It is extremely important that you carry water whilst hiking, in hot conditions 2-3L may be required. A 500ml bottle is not sufficient.
Water can be refilled at the accommodation.
If we are hit with extreme weather conditions, it may not be safe for the hiking activity to continue. In such circumstances we will try to find another activity for guests; this may be a historical site or city/town visit. If this is not to your liking you are free to explore the area individually but you remain responsible for your own actions.
Equipment & Clothing
greenTor will advise you on what you should bring on your break and what type of clothing to wear whilst hiking, if we feel that the type of clothing worn is unsubtle for the event and weather conditions we may ask you not to participate, both for your safety and the safety of the group.
Unfortunately we do not allow dogs or any other pet to accompany you on our Hike, Dine & Stay events.
We do not allow under 18s on our Hike, Dine & Stay package.
3.12 Amendments & Cancellations made by greenTor:
If your holiday is cancelled we will notify you as soon as possible.
You will be offered a full refund of the amount paid or the option to join a different holiday where there is availability.
If a holiday is cancelled by greenTor we will not be liable to reimburse any travel or accommodation expenses incurred.
3.13 Cancellations made by customer
All cancellations must be received by email and acknowledged by greenTor.
If you cancel a holiday less than 6 weeks (42 days) before the start date we will not be able to refund your payment.
Any deposits paid will not be refunded.
4. Terms and Conditions for Hike only, Hike & Dine, Guided walks and Navigation Courses:
4.1 Booking Once you have completed a booking form you will receive an invoice. Your place will be confirmed once payment has been received. We do accept cash for Guided Walks and Navigation Courses, Please make us aware at time of booking if you require to pay in cash.
Unfortunately we do not allow dogs or any other pet to accompany you on our Navigation Courses, well behaved dogs are permitted on private guided walks and hike only events. (Exceptions may be made on our Hike & Dine Package)
Under 18s are welcome at our events but the parent or guardian accepts responsibility for them.
4.3 Amendments & Cancellations made by greenTor:
If a course, holiday or service is cancelled we will notify you as soon as possible.
You will be offered a full refund of the amount paid or the option to join a different course, holiday or service where there is availability.
If a course, holiday or service is cancelled by greenTor we will not be liable to reimburse any travel or accommodation expenses incurred.
4.4 Cancellations made by customer
All cancellations must be received by email and acknowledged by greenTor.
If you cancel a Guided Walk or Navigation course less than 1 week (7 days) before the start date we will not be able to refund your payment.
If you cancel a Hike Only or Hike & Dine holiday less than 4 weeks (28 days) before the start date we will not be able to refund your payment.
Under GDPR legislation we are required to ensure clients are aware of what personal data is held by us, how it is used and for how long it is kept, who it is shared with and your rights regarding this.

When you make an enquiry your information is put onto an excel sheet on a password protected personal computer.
When you make a booking extra information is added to the excel sheet and is saved to the same personal computer.
